Prema Bio Heating Oil
The Zero-Duty Carbon Saving Solution

The only HMRC-approved liquid biofuel delivering HVO-level sustainability without the excise duty. A commercially unrivalled heating solution for large-scale industrial users.

Proud to supply

Unmatched industrial savings. Uncompromised sustainability.

Prema Bio Heating Oil (PBHO) is a breakthrough in industrial heating economics. Developed with full HMRC approval, it offers the carbon-saving performance of premium renewable fuels at a substantially lower operational cost.

  • Zero Excise Duty: PBHO is unique. It is the only liquid biofuel offering c.90% carbon reduction that does not attract excise duty, providing immediate, substantial savings against both fossil fuels and other renewables like HVO.
  • c.90% Carbon Reduction: Achieve practically the same environmental impact as premium HVO—slashing your site’s greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%—without paying the premium price tag.
  • Rapid ROI for Large Users: For high-volume heating operations, the sheer scale of the duty savings means that any required investment in infrastructure pays for itself quickly, unlocking long-term undisputed cost leadership.

Is Prema Bio Heating Oil right for your facility?

Prema Bio Heating Oil is an industrial-grade fuel designed for large-scale users who prioritise lowest-possible Operational Expenditure (OpEx).

Unlike drop-in fuels such as Kerosene or HVO, Prema Bio Heating Oil requires heated storage tanks and pipelines to maintain optimal viscosity for combustion.

  • Perfect for: Large industrial sites already equipped with heated heavy fuel oil (HFO) infrastructure, or high-volume users ready to invest in upgrades for massive long-term fuel savings.
  • Not suitable for: Small commercial sites, unheated outdoor storage, or low-turnover backup systems. (For these applications, we recommend Prema HVO100).

Instantly interchangeable

Prema Bio Heating Oil is a drop-in replacements for a wide range of fossil oils, including diesel, gasoil, kerosene, 35 second oils and heavy, processed and reclaimed oils where a system is already using heated storage. No changes are required to facilitate switching to our most sustainable fuel.  No downtime, no capital expenditure, just clean, dependable heat and a clear conscience.

Safeguard your existing infrastructure

Unlike the alternatives – electric, biomass and future fuels, switching to a sustainable heating oil doesn’t involve major capital investment or retirement of fully functional equipment.  If you don’t already have it, installation of heated storage is simple and affordable and, if your burners require a small adjustment to make the most of their new fuel, our technical experts are on hand to advise.

You can continue to utilise existing assets and infrastructure, making them newly environmentally friendly and avoiding curtailing their lifespan.
