what is HVO?
HVO is a low carbon, low emission, fossil-free and sustainable alternative to conventional fossil diesel. It is fully interchangeable with conventional diesel, and can be mixed at any percentage.
HVO is not biodiesel. It is a fundamentally different fuel to biodiesel, and as such doesn’t suffer from any of biodiesel’s associated issues.
Manufactured to EN 15940, the specification for paraffinic diesel fuels, HVO empowers you to do the right thing for the planet; dramatically reducing your organisation’s carbon footprint without ever compromising on performance.

ISCC proof of sustainability specifically confirms the; production facility, raw material origin & type, supplier, traceability, the ability to sell into the market and the well to tank (WTT) Scope 3 GHG emission factor.
Accepted by UK government as a renewable fuel under the Road Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO).

Safer for all
The flashpoint, the lowest temperature at which the vapour the liquid produces will burn in air, is high at 61 Degrees C minimum; improving safety, handling and storage.
Biodegradable so avoids environmental damage if accidentally released into the ecosystem. Complies with EU REACH regulation as such is biodegradable according to OECD test guideline 301 B.
Practically insoluble in water.
Less carbon for zero capital
Most low carbon energy options require significant capital expenditure.
Interchangeable with Diesel (see above), requires no CAPEX and utilises the lifespan of existing assets & infrastructure.

Accepted and Proven
HVO is not a new fuel. It has been accepted and proven over the last 15 years.
Many Original Engine Manufacturers (OEMs) have approved EN15940 and specifically HVO including Scania, Volvo, DAF and Caterpillar.
Scania and Volvo even recommend HVO as the first fill fuel because it consistently provides improved engine performance and longevity.
